Centrica’s telecommunications arm, Onetel, has acquired RedNet Limited, a privately owned Internet service provider (ISP), which specialize in providing small and medium sized companies with Networking, Internet and Web solutions.
RedNet provides end-to-end Internet solutions for businesses through products and services such as Web hosting, virtual private networks and Web security.
The acquisition also allows Onetel to provide products to support Local Area Network (LAN) and Wider Area Network (WAN) connectivity between and within sites.
“RedNet complements Onetel’s current B2B operation and allows us to offer business customers a full range of data products and business solutions, which is becoming increasingly important to the business market,” Ian El-Mokadem, managing director of Onetel, said.
“It will also support our efforts to attract additional business customers and ongoing efforts to cross sell new voice as well as data products and services to our current and newly acquired customers.”
RedNet managing director, Mike Revell, will be joining the Onetel business management team headed by Eddie Buxton.
