Centaur Fund Services, the specialist alternative investment fund administrator, has moved to build on its success to date by appointing Gavan McGuire as its new Head of Business Development.
Centaur added a number of major clients in November, including the launch of the Pendragon Event Driven Fund Limited and the launch of the Polar Capital Alva Global Convertible Fund Limited. The firm has a strong pipeline of new business and expects its strong growth to continue. In addition to targeting London, the firm plans to extend their business development drive into other major financial centres.
Gavan joins a hugely experienced management team, which has worked together since 1997. Centaur’s founders, Ronan Daly, Karen Malone and Eric Bertrand, have over 50 years of combined experience working within the hedge fund market in Europe. Previously responsible for the 200 billion BISYS Hedge Fund servicing business, the team have also aided industry bodies such as AIMA and IOSCO in policy areas such as fund valuation and corporate governance.
Gavan brings a wealth of experience to Centaur’s management team, with 13 years of experience in the fund administration business both in the UK and Ireland. He joins Centaur from Citi, where he was Director of Alternative Investment Services Sales and Relationship Management. Prior to this, Gavan held a series of senior roles with Citi Hedge Fund Services (formerly BISYS Hedge Fund Services), his last being Director of Business Development in London. He started his career at International Fund Services in Dublin.
Centaur has welcomed the increased demand from investors for accountability and transparency in asset verification and asset valuation. The firm has witnessed an increasing trend among investors whereby due diligence on service providers has moved from a minimum level to a position today where detailed analysis and meetings, review and probing is demanded.
