Celeste Copper Corporation (“Celeste” or the “Corporation”) appoints Erich Boechler to its board of directors. Boechler has 15 years of experience in the Canadian and international investment community most recently as a Director and Vice President of Leede Financial Markets Inc. Boechler brings expertise in corporate finance, acquisitions and mergers in the junior and intermediate resource sector to Celeste.

“We are very pleased that Boechler has accepted our invitation and look forward to working closely with Erich over the next few years to achieve our corporate objectives of establishing Celeste as one of the premier junior copper exploration companies in Chile,” says Elmer Stewart, president and CEO of Celeste.

In the fourth quarter of 2008, Celeste completed geophysical surveys, mapping and systematic channel sampling on four of the mineralized (copper-gold-silver) breccia pipes on its Negrita and Celeste mineral claims located in the Cabeza de Vaca mineral district approximately 30 kilometres from Copiapo, Chile. Results from these surveys are expected in mid to late January. Celeste will commence a diamond drilling program on the Negrita mineral claims upon review of the surveys.
