Beauchamp Financial Technology, the provider of software applications to the hedge fund industry, says D. Sykes Wilford has been appointed as Chairman of its Advisory Board. Until recently, Wilford was the Chief Investment Officer of CDC Investments, a New York based alternative asset management firm. He is also a Board member of other hedge funds. Previously, Wilford was CIO at Bankers Trust’s Private Bank and a Managing Director of Chase Manhattan Bank

He is a well-known speaker on financial subjects, including risk management, at industry seminars and frequently speaks to corporations, central banks and governments. Wilford has also published numerous research articles.

“I am delighted to announce Sykes’ appointment,” says Stuart Farr, Chief Executive of Beauchamp Financial Technology. “He has extensive practical experience in managing assets, which is underpinned by an exceptional understanding of financial theory. As well leveraging their management and industry experience, Sykes and the Advisory Board are part of our commitment to the market in North America.”

Wilford himself added: “Working with BFT is an exciting opportunity to help make some of the more theoretical aspects of how a hedge fund should be managed become reality. Technology is not only the key to successful fund management, but it is also the engine that can create the information needed to institutionalize the hedge fund industry. As a leader in provision of such technology, Beauchamp is in a unique position to prosper during the revolution that is now occurring in Asset Management.”
