The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) reported a trade volume of 41,206,760 contracts in September, a 56% increase from the same time last year.
The world’s largest options market reported that the spike was driven by substantial gains in its three largest sectors, index options rising 64%, equity options 50%, and options exchange hiking by 76% for September.
CBOE’s YTD stands at 334.9 million contracts traded, 28% ahead of last year’s record volume.
