CBOE Elects Citi's Kevin Murphy To Board Of Directors

The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) says that Kevin Murphy, the Managing Director and head of US Broker Dealer Sales for Citigroup Global Markets (Citi) has been elected to its board of directors. Murphy will serve as an Off-Floor (industry) Director.

“We are delighted to add Kevin Murphy, a highly regarded, seasoned veteran of the options business, to our Board,” says William J. Brodsky, the Chairman and CEO of the CBOE. “Kevin has played an active role in shaping the options industry over the past 25 years. His firsthand knowledge of the many different facets of our business and his experienced perspective will further enhance our strong team of directors.”

Murphy is currently a Managing Director at Citi and is head of US Broker Dealer Sales. He began his career in 1982 at Shearson/American Express as a listed options trader. In 1991 he was named head of the listed option department at Shearson Lehman Brothers, responsible for the sales and trading of listed options and overseeing all of the firm’s listed options exchange floor operations. He later formed the US Equity Structured Products sales team at Salomon Smith Barney.

A former chairman of the SIFMA Options Committee, Murphy has been a featured speaker at numerous industry conferences. He has also served on a number of the marketing and allocation committees of US options exchanges.
