Ismail Amla, head of Capcos UK operations and a member of the firms global executive management team, has been appointed as Capcos North America regional business leader.
Amla will take over from Tom McKelvey, who has served jointly as Capcos North America business leader and CEO. As of July 1, McKelvey began devoting his efforts full-time as Capcos global COO. Amla will continue to maintain his responsibilities for Capcos human capital worldwide, as well as Capcos offshore operations in India. Andrew Tarver, a Capco partner, succeeded Amla as UK Leader as of July 1.
Im very pleased to be joining Capcos North America team and look forward to working with our employees across Canada and the United States, Amla says. The financial services industry in North America is going through many fundamental shifts, as financial markets are under more scrutiny than ever before. Capco is well positioned to help our clients navigate through the challenges this dynamic market poses and deliver the solutions needed to excel in the post-crisis market.
The growth of Capcos business in North America has driven the decision to separate the roles of North America business leader and global COO. In his new role, Amla will focus on continuing to grow the firms business and brand in North America while McKelvey will continue to work closely with Capcos global executive management team on leading the firms global operations with responsibilities covering business performance, strategy and corporate development.
Before joining Capco in May 2010, Amla was senior executive at Accenture where he was responsible for the firms outsourcing business in key European countries. Additionally, he led the delivery across all service lines for the firms largest financial services client globally. He was also a member of the UK leadership team where he led the firms human capital initiatives.
Over the last several years weve seen tremendous growth and opportunity from our North American operations, says Tom McKelvey, COO of Capco. Ismail has long-term experience in the financial services industry and in managing large, global teams. He is an exceptional leader and will be a source of fresh and innovative perspectives to the strong North America team already in place.
