Cantor Fitzgerald & Co. has appointed two new managing directors of sales in its Prime Services Group: John Fiore, formerly of Bank of America Merrill Lynch, and Marc Young, formerly of BNP Paribas.

The two will be responsible for business development and origination for hedge fund clients. Fiore will be based in New York and Young in San Francisco.

Cantor Fitzgerald says it is growing its prime brokerage business through enhanced client coverage and broader distribution of its equity and fixed income prime brokerage capabilities for hedge funds and money managers.

At Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Fiore was a director and senior financing salesperson in its Prime Brokerage Group. Before that, he worked in securities financing at Goldman Sachs.

At BNP Paribas, Young was vice president helping to expand BNP’s prime brokerage presence in the West Coast. Previously, he was a director at UBS Securities, and before that worked in Morgan Stanley’s Prime Brokerage Division and at Husic Capital Management.

“Cantor Prime Services is committed to meeting each client’s needs with exceptional service and execution, says Noel Kimmel, senior managing director and global head of Prime Services at Cantor Prime Services. John and Marc have proven track records with deep knowledge and strong relationships within the hedge fund industry and prime brokerage space. Their appointments strengthen our team and help to drive our business forward as we build an even greater market franchise.”
