Calastone makes three new strategic hires

Funds network targets next phase of tech innovation and product growth with addition of trio.

Global funds network Calastone has made three strategic hires to support the next stage of its growth.  

Early FinTech champion and experienced banker Ahsan Raza joins as CFO, former McKinsey associate partner, Varun Atre becomes head of product, while experienced technology executive Paul Elflain is the new head of DMI [distributed market infrastructure] sales.

Before joining Calastone, Raza was a managing director and co-head of the technology investment banking coverage team for Barclays in EMEA. In his new role as CFO, he is responsible for managing all financial and strategic activities of the business.  

Atre meanwhile, will oversee the continued innovation of Calastone’s product offering. While with McKinsey & Company, he helped guide a range of technology and financial services product and go-to-market strategies. 

Elflain will fill a newly created role driving Calastone’s DMI Fund Services solution. He brings experience in leadership roles at global technology firms including Linedata, FIS Global and DTCC Omgeo.
