CACEIS has registered with French regulator Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF) to offer digital asset custody, cementing its plans announced a year ago.

The custodian registered on 20 June according to the AMF website.

In June 2022, CACEIS signed an agreement with specialist blockchain platform Taurus as part of plans to offer digital assets custody, issuance and tokenisation.

CACEIS said its objectives include providing the secure custody of digital assets using Taurus-PROTECT, including automated corporate action processing, dividend payments and Smart Contract management.

The bank also said it would explore digital asset issuance and tokenisation on blockchain using Taurus-CAPITAL and connectivity with over 10 blockchains using Taurus-EXPLORER.

CACEIS has become a fast-growing player in the asset servicing space in recent years through acquisitions. The custodian took over both Santander Securities Services (S3) and KAS Bank in recent years and has been growing its assets under custody, which now stand at $7.8 trillion, as of end of 2021.
