The British Standards Institution (BSI) has changed the alpha and numeric code of the national currency of the Republic of Serbia. The three-character alpha code for the dinar is RSD, and applies as of 25 October 2006, while its numeric code is 941.
After obtaining a three-character and two-character country code, Serbia has now also obtained a code for its national currency – the dinar. In this manner, preconditions were created to listing the Serbian dinar in world financial stock exchanges for the first time in the modern history.
The newly separated Republics of Serbia and Montenegro have just been officially assigned individual country codes by ISO (International Organisation for Standardisation) for use in multiple applications including Internet domain names, machine-readable passports and electronic financial transactions.
