Brown Brothers Harriman & Co. have hired Simon Cleary to support its growth strategy in the Fund Solutions space.
Cleary joins the bank as Senior Vice President and Head of Fund Solutions in Europe and will report to BBH Partner, Jeffrey R.
Holland. The position will be based in London and is newly formed to reinforce and grow BBH’s successful Fund Solutions offering.
While BBH is acknowledged as a world leader in serving globally invested funds vehicles and their managers, BBH’s Fund Solutions platform targets the institutions who invest in funds. BBH Fund Solutions integrates a range of services such as fund execution, custody, compliance, administration of distribution fees, and fund messaging.
Prior to joining BBH, Cleary was at SWIFT, where he was the Director of Securities Markets responsible for defining SWIFT’s strategy for the securities business and for developing and managing solutions in support of that strategy. During his seven-year tenure at SWIFT, the industry owned co-operative evolved from specialising in settlement flows to messaging activities covering the entire securities transaction lifecycle. Cleary has been responsible for the definition, delivery and management of all product offerings for the securities markets during this period, including SWIFTNet Funds in support of investment funds automation. With more than 20 years direct experience in the securities markets, Cleary has also held positions in global custody relationship management, product development, and operations at Citibank, Bank of New York and Chase Manhattan.
