As financial services firms are increasingly looking for solutions which can streamline processing operations and offer faster routes to market, Broadridge Financial Solutions, Inc. (NYSE:BR) has hired Simon Bennett as managing director of sales for Broadridge City Networks (BCN) and Robert Binney as a senior business development director to expand its European team and take advantage of new global market opportunities.
Bennett will focus on growing the business in Europe, the Middle East and Asia, bringing the Broadridge City Networks product suite, which includes reconciliation and operational risk management software, to buy- and sell-side clients. Binney will work in a business advisory capacity to increase the Broadridge footprint across its international software and service range.
Bennett has more than 20 years of financial services experience, having held senior roles with global software vendors in Europe, the US and Asia. His previous roles include commercial director at Linedata Services, deputy sales director at GL Trade and general manager with Alltel. He is a fellow of the Chartered Management Institute, holds an M.B.A. from Kingston Business School and a degree in financial services from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST).
Broadridge is a well-regarded company with an excellent existing client base, and I am looking forward to growing the BCN team and introducing the growing range of BCN solutions including the business processing outsourcing (BPO) capabilities Broadridge offers to clients to boost cost savings and efficiencies, Bennett says.
Binneys past positions include director of strategic accounts at FIS, vice chairman at Fortent and managing director at Citigroup, as well as several senior roles at Chase Manhattan Bank. He holds an M.B.A. from Manchester Business School and achieved his masters in engineering at Churchill College, Cambridge.
The demand for streamlining operations is an issue for organizations worldwide, and Broadridge is well-placed to offer customers an effective solution in Europe and globally, Binney says.
Tom Carey, CEO of Securities Processing Solutions, International for Broadridge, adds: Expanding our team is a strategic move to continue providing our customers with mission-critical products and services for securities processing, reconciliation and outsourcing at a time when firms are demanding fast-to-market solutions which help them to grow their businesses, streamline operations and create efficiencies.
