BPC Banking Technologies, a provider of e-payment and retail banking applications, completed the first project for SmartVista implementation in Southern Africa.

The project was aimed at the creation of a fully functional ATM device handler to deploy an extended ATM network for the company Vela ATM, Johannesburg, the Republic of South Africa. BPC’s partner for this project was BS/2 company (Penki Kontinentai Group), a supplier of ATM brands and a provider of software for optimisation of ATM operations.

Within the project BPC implemented a SmartVista based ATM device handler connecting the host to Nedbank, one of the largest acquiring banks of the South African Republic

At present the SmartVista tool successfully operates in Vela ATM providing broad opportunities for Wincor-Nixdorf and NCR ATMs monitoring and management and for their interaction with the Nedbank processing center.

“BPC’s coming to the market in Southern Africa has provided African banks and their customers with an opportunity to choose between legacy and inefficient solutions supplied by companies originally based in the country and SmartVista based flexible solutions built on modern standards and technologies. BPC expects that the first project in Vela ATM will develop further and will allow the company to build a robust platform for its further expansion to the other countries of the Southern part of Africa”, says Vasily Volynsky, sales director, BPC.
