Romania is mainly a receiving market for money transfers but there is also a strong demand for domestic and international payments. Banca Transilvania, one of Romanias most innovative banks now offers its customers the opportunity to send and receive consumer to consumer payments. using its country-wide ATM network as a convenient 24/7 channel.
Banca Transilvania has been running its payments business on SmartVista since 2009 and has, together with BPC and Western Union, upgraded its payments infrastructure to support the new service. Now Banca Transilvanias customers may send and receive Western Union money transfers at any of the Banks ATMs across the country As an additional service, Banca Transilvanias customers may also view the history of their money transfers on the ATM screen. Transfers can be made by using bank cards or cash. Funds can be picked up at any of the more than 385.000 Western Union branded Agent locations in over 200 countries and territories around the globe.
