Edward P. O’Keefe has been named general counsel at Bank of America Corporation, effective immediately. O’Keefe has been interim general counsel since January 2009.
He has previously held several roles at Bank of America including deputy general counsel and head of litigation, global compliance and operational risk executive, senior privacy executive and deputy general counsel for staff support. In that role, he was responsible for providing legal advice and litigation support to the chief financial officer, chief administrative officer, chief technology officer and their staffs.
O’Keefe, 54, joined the company in 2004 from Deutsche Bank AG, where he was responsible for the global staff support legal functions outside of Germany.
