The Bank of New York Mellon has been ranked the number one trustee in the United States for 2008, according to Thomson Reuters.
During 2008, the company served as trustee on 1,656 new issues, or about 45% more than its closest competitor. These new issues represented more than $529 billion in proceeds, more than three times the amount serviced by any other trustee in the U.S.
“As the clear market leader in the United States, we continue to post market share gains as issuers seek trustees with financial strength and stability and a wide range of services across all debt segments,” says Scott Posner, chief executive officer of Global Corporate Trust business, Bank of New York Mellon.
