BNY Mellon has announced senior appointments to its management team in Germany following the resignation of Michelle Grundmann as head of the banks asset servicing offering in the country.
Michelle Grundmann, who is understood to be leaving to take up a new role as head of J.P. Morgans Worldwide Securities Services offering in Germany at the beginning of next year, will be transitioning her current responsibilities in the coming weeks.
Several changes have been announced: Thomas Brand has been appointed head of Investment Services, encompassing asset servicing, broker-dealer & advisory services, and issuer services, for BNY Mellon in Germany responsible for relationship management and business development in Germany, Switzerland and Central and South Eastern Europe. Brand is also appointed a branch manager of The Bank of New York Mellon Branch Management and joins the Supervisory Board of BNY Mellons KAG business, subject to BaFin notification and other regulatory approvals. He has previously served as country executive for Germany and regional executive for the German speaking, Central Eastern European and South Eastern European regions, having joined BNY Mellon in Frankfurt in 1999.
Jrgen Frank becomes chairman of the Supervisory Board of the KAG business. The bank has also extended his contact as branch manager and spokesman for the Frankfurt branch of The Bank of New York Mellon, and as head of Integration for the Asset Servicing business in Germany. In addition he will assume responsibility for Human Resources, Finance and Tax for Asset Servicing as a part of his branch manager oversight for the region. Frank was formerly CEO of BHF Asset Servicing prior to its acquisition by BNY Mellon.
Laura Ahto will join BNY Mellon in October 2012 as head of Asset Servicing Operations and Service Delivery in Frankfurt. Subject to regulatory approvals, she will be appointed branch manager of The Bank of New York Mellon Branch Management. She joins from Baring Asset Management in London, where she was deputy COO, head of Operations and Technology. Prior to that role, she held senior positions in operations, technology, and funds administration at PIMCO Europe, Deutsche Bank, and Bankers Trust Company, in London, Australia, and New York.
Christian Altmeyer is appointed a branch manager of The Bank of New York Mellon Branch Management and will assume responsibility for Legal, Regulatory Affairs, Internal Audit and Risk & Compliance for the region.
