BNY Mellon has named Timothy Keaney CEO of Investment Services as the company aligns its Asset Servicing, Corporate Trust, Depositary Receipts, Global Markets, Global Collateral Services, Broker Dealer Services, and Pershing businesses under his leadership.
Keaney is currently vice chairman and CEO of Asset Servicing. He will retain his vice chairman title.
A statement from the company said: Before these changes, FMTS and Asset Servicing were separate organizations within Investment Services. This new structure will allow strong alignment across all of the businesses. As one team that truly spans the entire spectrum of Investment Services, we expect to take collaboration and client service to the next level, driving more value for clients and shareholders. “
Keaney joined BNY Mellon in 2000 and currently oversees the companys businesses that provides institutions worldwide with global custody, global fund services, foreign exchange, securities lending, transfer agency, transition management, trustee/depot bank services, offshore fund administration, benefit disbursements, performance analytics and alternative investment services. Before joining BNY Mellon, Keaney worked at Deutsche Bank where he had management responsibility for sales and client management for custody, asset administration, performance measurement, asset management, funds transfer and trade finance activities.
Chairman and CEO Gerald Hassell announced several other executive appointments, effective Jan. 1 2013, to streamline the companys investment services offering.
Karen Peetz will become president of BNY Mellon. Peetz is currently vice chairman and CEO of Financial Markets & Treasury Services. As president, Peetz will lead Global Client Management, Regional Management, Treasury Services and Human Resources.
Brian Shea will be named president of Investment Services and head of BNY Mellons GlobalOperations and Technology group. He will also continue in his role as CEO of BNYMellons Pershing subsidiary and as head of Broker Dealer and Advisor Services. Shea joined Pershing in 1983 and currently heads BNY Mellons Broker Dealer and Advisor Services group, which includes serving as CEO of Pershing
Vice Chairman Curtis Arledge continues as CEO of Investment Management, BNY Mellons asset and wealth management businesses.
Peetz, Keaney and Arledge continue to report to Hassell. Shea will report to Hassell as head of Global Operations and Technology and to Keaney in his capacity as president of Investment Services.
