BNY Mellon has appointed Brian McMahon as managing director, business development executive, of its alternatives unit in Luxembourg. The appointment is the providers first sales head for the Luxembourg unit and comes as it seeks to enhance its existing fund administration capabilities in the domicile.
McMahon previously held roles at Citi and State Street in investment services.
He will serve as the companys senior alternative industry facing executive in Luxembourg. McMahon also has expertise in private equity and real estate and and as such will develop business and relationships for EMEA in these two areas.
In addition BNY Mellon has promoted Valeria Anderson to senior salesperson, vice president, in the London Alternative Investment Services (AIS) business development team. She has 14 years of experience in financial services, six years of which were with BNY Mellon, first in the Paris office and most recently as a relationship manager for AIS in London. Anderson is focusing on developing the companys business with fund of hedge funds, managed account and UCITS platforms and to expanding the companys business in France.
Both Anderson and McMahon report to Marina Lewin, global head of Business Development for AIS.
