BNY ConvergEx Group, LLC’s LiquidPoint routed and/or executed a record 21.5 million options contracts for the week ending 18 January 2008.
This represented LiquidPoint’s highest volume ever recorded in one week.
In addition, LiquidPoint had three successive days of all time volume highs, and broke its own record for the highest one day volume in the firm’s history, with 5.3 million contracts routed and/or executed on 17 January.
LiquidPoint also recently announced that it routed and/or executed a record 685 million options contracts in 2007, which represented an increase of 56% compared to the year before, and its share of OCC volume increased 57% compared to 2006.
The overall volume of the U.S. options industry increased approximately 41% in 2007, according to transaction volume data obtained from the Options Clearing Corporation.
“The most significant aspect of our ongoing volume growth is the consistent reliability of the HEATTM System during the extreme volatility of these markets. Our ability to continually set new volume records is a direct result of the trust that clients place in the strength and stability of the LiquidPoint options execution platform,” says Anthony J. Saliba, president and CEO, LiquidPoint, LLC.
