The Bank of New York appointed Bana Akkad Azhari as the representative for its Beirut office, where she will be responsible for all of the bank’s business activities in Lebanon and Cyprus.
Azhari will report to William F. Williams, managing director, Middle East, Eastern Europe, and Africa division.
Azhari joins the company after over nine years with Citigroup in Beirut where she held the position of resident vice president. She holds a Masters of Money and Banking degree from the American University of Beirut.
“We are pleased to have someone of Bana’s experience and calibre join us,” Williams said. “With her strong market and product knowledge, she will continue our long tradition of providing superior banking services in this key market. We are proud to have been continuously present in Beirut since 1964 and will look forward to supporting our longstanding relationships in Lebanon and Cyprus.”
