BNP Paribas Securities Services has expanded the remit of its head of the Netherlands and the Nordics to include Luxembourg to his role.

Robert van Kerkhoff has assumed responsibility for driving the bank’s growth across the three Northern European markets.

“Robert has a deep knowledge of the fund services industry across a number of European countries and will play a key role in developing our offering in Luxembourg, the Netherlands, and the Nordics,” said Alessandro Gioffreda, head of Continental Europe, BNP Paribas Securities Services.

Van Kerkhoff led the Netherlands and Nordics business for nearly four years, and prior to that, was deputy global head of asset funds services operations.

Frédéric Perard, the former head of BNP Paribas Securities Services Luxembourg, has been appointed global head of investment and fund services operations.

A number of custodians and fund administrators have bolstered their Luxembourg-based teams in recent months, including Northern Trust which established its EU bank in the country and named David Wicks to lead the business. SS&C GlobeOp also named Collin Haggart to lead its Luxembourg-based team in October.
