Sterci, the Geneva-based software provider, says BNP Paribas Riyadh has bought its Stelink financial messaging application for SARIE (Saudi Arabian Local EFT) connectivity. Stelink will be integrated with the BNP Paribas Riyadh core banking system to process payments.

BNP Paribas Riyadh is in the process of starting operations in the Kingdom. It is already present in five locations in the Middle East- Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Dubai, Doha, and Kuwait – and Riyadh becomes the sixth.

Jerome Gaubicher Head of the Middle-East Regional IT Department at BNP Paribas says he selected Stelink for its capabilities to connect to SARIE and to provide local support. “Additionally, Stelink will convert our payment messages in SWIFT format into the SARIE proprietary format,” he adds. “This very useful function will allow us to implement quickly an automatic connection to SARIE sparing us from a more time consuming specific development”.

Etienne Savatier, director, marketing and international sales at Sterci says a local partner (EJADA) will help with implementation and support.
