Beata Szonyi has been appointed as head of securities services in Hungary. She joins from Unicredit Global Securities Services, where she most recently a global relationship manager for the banks flagship US and UK clients activities in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).

She takes over from Theofilos Mitsakos, who has relocated to London to take up the post of head of clearing and custody operations for the BNP Paribas’ UK business.

Szonyi will bring her knowledge of the CEE region to meeting the local custody requirements of large US and UK banks and institutional investors in Hungary. She will be in charge of stimulating further client growth in Hungary, where BNP Paribas launched local custody services in 2008 and became a general clearing member for fixed income and began to offer on-exchange services in June 2010.
