BNP Paribas Securities Services (BNP Paribas) has launched a solution for insurance companies to calculate capital requirements on assets under Solvency II framework.

New requirements under the regulation, in particular with regards to data management, look-through capabilities and reporting will form key requirements of Solvency II, the date of which is still under discussion.

BNP Paribas Solvency II Capital Requirement Solution (SCR) is an enterprise risk management tool for insurers offering SCR asset monitoring, reporting and comprehensive risk and analysis capabilities. It provides information on all asset classes and geographies, which clients can access via a web-based interactive tool. It will also soon be available via an iPad application.

Maxime Gibault, head of insurance companies, BNP Paribas Securities Services said: This tool helps insurance companies and asset managers better monitor their investment strategies and their impact on the capital requirements. Gibault added that the web based solution provides detailed records, which can be analyzed or broken down as necessary, for example according to asset type, rating class or holding level.
