BNP Paribas Securities Services has hired Jamie Pratt as head of sales in the Americas for debt market services, which follows the launch of the bank’s issuing and paying agent services to U.S. money market issuers last year.
Pratt joins from Barclays Capital where he was a director in the bank’s structured finance department in New York. Prior to Barclays, he served as securitization banker at Deutsche Bank in London.
BNP Paribas has expanded its presence in the U.S. money markets recently, such as by providing money market issuers with their issuance of short-term debt and reporting to the DTCC. Debt market services also include monitoring and administering collateral, managing cash balances and waterfall calculations, executing payments, etc.
“The U.S. money market is a key source of short-term funding for U.S. and non-U.S. issuers. It is a high volume market with short deadlines creating significant operational challenges for issuers,” says Claudine Gallagher, regional manager North America at BNP Paribas Securities Services. “Our strong understanding of the local market infrastructure and its regulatory environment combined with our market-leading technology platform dedicated to money market processing will help our customers increase efficiency and reduce operational risk.”
