In response to strong growth in BNP Paribas’ Commodity Derivatives business, Frederic Hervouet has been appointed as head of Commodity Investor Derivatives Asia, reporting to Lionel Semonin, global head of Commodity Investor Derivatives.
BNP Paribas has been active in the commodity derivatives space for 20 years. Over the past couple of years, the bank has successfully grown its offering for investors. Hervouet will be based in Singapore and will lead a team covering Asia. He will be responsible for developing and strengthening relationships with clients including private banks, hedge funds and pension funds.
Hervouet joins from Diapason Commodities Management, where he was global head of Sales in Switzerland and contributed to the marketing of commodity indices, most notably the Rogers International Commodity Index. Prior to that, he worked for a number of hedge fund managers, he started his career in derivatives trading in 1996.
“We believe that a senior leadership role in Singapore is crucial in facilitating and positioning BNP Paribas as the preferred provider of Commodity Structured products in this buoyant market,” says Semonin.
