BNP Paribas Securities Services has appointed Anne-Sofie Strandberg and Steve Payne as business development managers for the region, including Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Norway, as the bank expands its service offering to Nordic institutional investors.
Both Strandberg and Payne are based in Stockholm and will report to Annalisa Winge Bicknell, regional head of sales and relationship management for institutional investors for BNP Paribas Securities Services in London.
Strandberg has 24 years’ experience working in the Nordic region. She joins from Citi, where she was head of securities and fund services for Sweden, based in Stockholm. Before this, she was head of relationship management for securities services at Swedbank.
Payne was previously regional business manager for client development at BNP Paribas Securities Services in London and has now relocated to Stockholm. His experience covers sales and relationship management for asset owners and alternative funds in both the UK and Asia Pacific.
BNP Paribas is already on the ground in the Nordic region with more than 500 staff members delivering local and international market services, including corporate and investment banking, asset management, insurance and vehicle leasing. The bank has more than USD 9 trillion in assets under custody and provides coverage in more than 100 markets.
“I am pleased to have such an experienced team on the ground. This will boost our local market expertise and enable us to better understand the specific requirements of local institutional investors, said Patrick Colle, general manager of BNP Paribas Securities Services. “BNP Paribas has traditionally been strong in the Nordic region and we will look to leverage the group’s presence together with our cross asset class expertise and market-leading technology to win local institutional mandates.”
