BISYS Commercial Insurance Services announced Friday that will now offer a new employee-based risk reduction program it calls STEP for Safety.
Short for Safe Thinking Employee Process, BISYS says STEP is designed to reduce the frequency of workplace accidents by as much as 34% and to help companies reduce their workers’ compensation claims and premiums.
“Safety in the workplace is a key concern for businesses; the best way to improve safety and reduce accident frequency is by involving and educating those most affected – the employees,” says Kent Hendrickson, director of BISYS STEP for Safety. “The program combines safety training with rewards so that employees not only understand their role in workplace safety, but also allows them to take responsibility for their safety. And as an incentive, employees can earn rewards for correctly answering monthly safety quiz questions for being accident free.”
