Bear Stearns has appointed Leonard Feder Co-Head of Prime Brokerage with Louis Lebedin. Together they will oversee the Prime Brokerage, Stock Loan and Equity Finance businesses. Feder and Lebedin report to Bruce Lisman and Steve Meyer, Co-Heads of Global Equities.

“Prime Brokerage has long been an integral part of Bear Stearns’ franchise,” says Warren Spector, the president and co-chief operating officer of Bear Stearns. “This leadership team will help us to build upon our strengths and expand our product offering both domestically and internationally.”

Feder, a senior managing director, joined Bear Stearns in 1996 as Co-Head of Municipal Derivatives. In 2002, he moved to Japan and served as Head of Fixed Income and Derivatives Asia and Tokyo branch manager. In the fall, Feder returned to New York to head Structured Trading for the Global Equities Division.

Lebedin, also a senior managing director, joined Bear Stearns in 1987. Before becoming Co-Head of Prime Brokerage in June of last year, Lebedin was the chief operating officer and chief financial officer of Global Clearing Services.
