Barnaby Nelson has been appointed as managing director and regional head of Investors and Intermediaries, North East Asia and Greater China at Standard Chartered.

Nelson joined on March 18 from BNP Paribas, where he was head of client development, Asia-Banks, Broker Dealers and Corporate Issuers.

In his new role, he will lead the business agenda for institutional investor and intermediary clients across North East Asia and Greater China, with a focus on supporting clients’ growth aspirations across Asia, Africa and the Middle East. His remit includes custody, cash and securities clearing, fund administration, and asset servicing.

Based in Hong Kong, Nelson will report to Margaret Harwood-Jones, global segment sponsor, Investors & Intermediaries, Transaction Banking and Helen Hui, head of Transaction Banking, Hong Kong.
