Barclays Stockbrokers has been named Broker of the Year at the annual Shares Awards.

The accolade comes just a week after the Investors Chronicle Investment Awards 2007 where the business was also named Best Broker of the Year for the third consecutive year. Both industry awards are voted for by readers. In addition to these titles, Barclays Stockbrokers has also been named: Shares Best Active Trading Tools in recognition of its BARX platform; Investors Chronicle Best Level 2 Data Provider 2007, again in recognition of its BARX platform; Investors Chronicle Best Online Stockbroker for Financial Security 2007.

“We are delighted to have been named Stockbroker of the Year by readers of Shares Magazine and the Investors Chronicle. Because these awards are voted for by readers they are particularly meaningful to us. We’ve worked hard this year to deliver a number of new initiatives like capital-protected Investment Notes and advanced multi-product trading tools like BARX. Our clients have become increasingly adept to changing market conditions and more savvy in their use of new technology and investments, and we’ll hope to continue to exceed their expectations in 2008,” says Amy Nauiokas, managing director and head of Barclays Stockbrokers.
