Barclays Capital, the investment banking division of Barclays Bank PLC, appointed John Finigan as a managing director and head of product development for the firm’s collateralised finance group (CFG). Finigan, who joins on 20 September, wants to focus on expanding the CFG business in several areas, including global netting, commodities prime brokerage and FX prime brokerage. He will report to Maurits Schouten, head of equity-linked products and collateralised finance and will be based in New York.

Finigan joins from AIG Trading where he was president and CEO. Prior to this, he had over 25 years’ experience at Bankers Trust and Deutsche Bank in a number of trading, sales, operational management and control roles. “Barclays Capital services its clients in an integrated way, therefore John’s wealth of experience in the FX, commodity and fixed income markets will assist the firm in maintaining its market leading position in multi-product prime brokerage, cross margining and global netting,” said Schouten.
