Kevin Mirabile, the Barclays Capital Managing Director who heads the prime brokerage group at the firm, has assumed responsibility for the global expansion and marketing of products and services to hedge funds, bank proprietary trading operations and leveraged funds sponsored by fund managers. He continues as Co-Head of the firm’s Collateralized Finance business working with Maurits Schouten, who assumes the role of Co-Head of Collateralized Finance, and continues as Head of Equity-Linked Products.

“These appointments position us well to service one of the fastest growing pool of assets in financial services that is controlled by leveraged capital investors,” says Thomas L. Kalaris, Chief Executive, Americas. “With growth in excess of 20% per year, this is an important customer base for us.”

The Barclays Capital Collateralized Finance Group encompasses prime brokerage, equity financing and hedging, futures, US dollar epurchase agreements and corporate credit repurchase agreements. The firm has 40 of the largest hedge funds as clients and ranked Number 1 in Client services, Financing and Operations in Global Custodian Magazine’s 2002 prime brokerage survey.
