Barclays Capital has hired Glenn Boyd as a director and head of mortgage strategy, responsible for building the mortgage research team that will support the residential mortgage-backed securities business.
“Adding Glenn and his expertise is part of our ongoing commitment to strengthening the global research team across product lines to provide clients and internal partners with the best research available,” said Larry Kantor, head of economics and market strategy for Barclays.
Boyd joins the firm after five years at UBS, where he was a director in their mortgage strategy group, specializing in prepayment. At UBS, Boyd was part of the team that achieved top ranking in MBS Prepayment from Institutional Investor magazine.
Prior to that, Boyd was in the mortgage strategy group at CSFB. He holds a bachelors degree in physics and mathematics from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, and a PhD in high energy physics from the California Institute of Technology.
Boyd will be based in New York and will report to Bulent Baygun, head of U.S. fixed income strategy.
