A number European banks have notified the Romanian National Bank (BNR) regarding their intention to provide financial and custody services within the Romanian market under the European Financial Passport.

Aegon bank and Nord LB Covered Bank have all stated their interest in offering varying financial services in the Romanian Market.

Aegon has stated interest in the custody of financial instruments, and providing trading services plus portfolio administration.

Nord LB is aiming to raise finance outside the euro-zone, according to reports in Romanian financial papers. Raiffeisen Stras-Spielfeld has also expressed interest in entering the market, raising the number of institutions having notified the BNR to 174.
