Brown Brothers Harriman (BBH) yesterday published plans to provide a global custody system and network management service to Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ (Luxembourg) S.A. (BTMUL) through Brown Brothers Harriman (Luxembourg) S.C.A.

The arrangement will become fully operative by the end of the first quarter of 2008. The BBH technology will be adapted to support not only BTMUL’s current book of business but also future business growth, including increasingly complex requirements from the investment management community servicing pension fund clients of the Mitsubishi UFJ trust bank in Japan.

BBH has had a long-standing relationship with Mitsubishi UFJ Trust and Banking Corporation (MUTB) and its predecessor companies dating back to the mid 1980s, when BBH began providing US custody and brokerage services to MUTB. BBH has provided global sub-custody services to MUTB since the early 1990s.
