SunGard says the Bank of Israel has selected the MINT SWIFTNet FIN solution to replace its SWIFT interface to take advantage of SWIFTNet readiness.

Bank of Israel has committed to use MINT as its strategic SWIFTNet FIN platform, to manage the migration from SWIFT’s X.25 network and to support the new FIN services on the SWIFTNet IP network. This means that MINT will replace the Bank of Israel’s existing SWIFT system, and will process centrally all of Bank of Israel’s traffic.

“By choosing to work with SunGard we have experienced a professional approach to a complex implementation,” says Abraham Jacoby, head of the IT department (chief information officer) at Bank of Israel commented. “The transformation from our existing mainframe environment to the new MINT environment was implemented according to schedule and without problems. We chose the MINT SWIFTNet solution because it provides a fully available and consolidated approach to all existing and future SWIFTNet Application Services as part of an integrated platform.”

SunGard’s MINT solution offers a consolidated operational solution on one platform from a proven and leading vendor. This will help Bank of Israel to recognise a reduction in the cost of ownership as well as improving its overall STP rate because of better process automation. The MINT solution will eventually replace its existing mainframe-based solution, with a more consolidated and complete infrastructure.

“We are proud that the Bank of Israel has selected MINT to replace its existing mainframe infrastructure and as its future SWIFTNet architecture,” says Danny Barsella, president and chief executive officer, SunGard Business Integration. “We developed our ‘consolidated operations’ approach to extend the SWIFTNet “single window” concept into the business operations environment, thereby providing a consolidated ‘single view’ of business messages. It makes us proud to see our idea bearing fruit.”
