Bank of America has hired Patrick Baune as head of European sales for its Global Foreign Exchange business. Baune is based in London and spearheads the firm’s Foreign Exchange (FX) sales initiatives within Europe. He reports jointly to Alain Delelis, Head of Global Spot & Emerging Market Trading and Overall Head of Europe, Middle East & Africa Foreign Exchange, and Robert Gotelli, Global Head of Foreign Exchange Sales.

“As we continue growing our client base globally, Patrick’s impressive track-record of serving clients and building and growing FX sales organizations makes him a perfect fit to lead Bank of America’s FX sales initiatives in Europe,” said Robert Gotelli.

Baune joins Bank of America from Merrill Lynch, where he served as head of European FX Sales for three years. Prior to joining Merrill Lynch, Baune spent eight years with Goldman Sachs in London, serving in various capacities including co-head of European FX Sales, head of Southern European FX Sales Team, and executive director FX Sales Team.

After beginning his career in finance with a high tech venture capital firm, Baune moved on to serve as head of European Currency Option Sales for Societe Generale in Paris.

Baune is a graduate of Ingenieur Civil des Mines and holds an MBA from Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussees. In addition, he served as a graduate research assistant in general engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and studied at the Harvard Negotiation Project at Harvard Law School.
