Bank of America announced that Ki Myung (Kim) Hong, head of Global Markets (GMG) in Asia, has been named president for the Asia region, following the retirement of Colm McCarthy. Hong is based in Hong Kong and reports to Jonathan Moulds, president of Europe, the Middle East, Africa (EMEA) and Asia.
In a related move, Scott Lampard, head of Bank of Americas Debt Capital Markets business in EMEA and Asia, will relocate from London to Hong Kong to lead the regional global markets business.
Hong has 25 years of experience, during which he has held a variety of client, product and managerial positions. He joined Bank of America in June 2007 from JP Morgan where he spent eight years in Hong Kong, Korea and Singapore. His roles at the bank included being regional co-head of Credit and Rates as well as country head for Korea.
Lampard joined Bank of America in 2005 from JP Morgan. He will report locally to Hong and functionally to Moulds.
These moves reflect the opportunity we see in Asia and underscore the importance of the region to Bank of Americas international business. Colm has played a pivotal role in the region for the past 17 years, and we are well positioned to continue to grow. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Colm for his nearly-30 years of service at the ban, says Moulds.
