Bank of America Merrill Lynch Recruits Another J.P. Morgan Exec, Now for FX Prime Brokerage

Peter Klein has joined Bank of America Merrill Lynch as global head of FX prime brokerage, according to an internal memo sent to employees and seen by Global Custodian. Klein joins from J.P. Morgan, where he held the same role.

Peter Klein has joined Bank of America Merrill Lynch (BAML) as global head of FX prime brokerage, according to an internal memo sent by Stu Hendel, global head of prime brokerage, and Denis Manelski, head of global short rates trading, to employees and seen by Global Custodian. Klein joins from J.P. Morgan, where he held the same role.

Klein will report to Peter Johnson, who is also joining BAML from J.P. Morgan at the end of this month to serve as managing director and head of global futures and OTC clearing. Johnson also most recently served in the same role at J.P. Morgan.

Klein will also report to Chris Bae, co-head of global FX trading, and Kevin Connors, global head of FX Sales, in order to ensure close coordination with the Global FX Sales and Trading businesses, according to the memo.

Klein will remain based in London. Before working at J.P. Morgan, he was COO of a hedge fund in Europe and before that worked at Saxo Bank, where he established its London office.

Peter will be responsible for further developing our FX Prime brokerage business globally and ensuring that the firm is well placed to support our goal of becoming a leading provider of FX services, including in prime brokerage and clearing, the memo states.
