Bank of America has appointed Bo-Hee Hur, principal, as a senior banker in Seoul, where she will lead the banks Financial Institutions Groups (FIG) business in Korea.

She reports to Alok Kochhar, head of FIG, Asia, and is also part of the client management team working with Stefan James, country executive for Korea.

Based in Seoul, Hur is responsible for the origination and execution of commercial and investment banking transactions involving Korean financial institutions.

Hur, a Korean national, has been with Bank of America for more than eight years and returned to Korea after spending four years based in Los Angeles. Her most recent role involved North American coverage of Korean corporate clients and their US, Canadian and Mexican subsidiaries.

Prior to joining Bank of America, Hur spent four years at Bankers Trust Company, Seoul, and Bankers Trust International Plc., Seoul, as a relationship manager, where she worked on several advisory projects. Hur began her career at the Korea Merchant Banking Corporation in 1987.

“It is important for us to have a banker of Bo Hees caliber in Korea. Her international experience and background will help ensure that we maximize the opportunities for us to grow the FIG business in this market,” says Kochhar.

“Bo Hee has had an extensive banking career working closely with our Korean clients both in Korea and globally. We are delighted that she has returned to take up this position in Seoul,” adds James.

Hur holds an MBA degree from the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University and a B.A. in Economics from Seoul National University.

Bank of America has been operating in Korea since 1967 and offers commercial and investment banking products and services to top-tier local corporates, financial institutions and MNCs.
