AXA Investment Managers (AXA IM) has strengthened its fund of hedge funds business division with a series of key appointments.
Rajiv Jaitly recently joined as COO, Sharmila Soosaipillai, as senior operational due diligence analyst and Shiblee Alam as product specialist for Hedge Funds.
Jaitly reports to Chris Manser, global head of Fund of Hedge Funds, and focuses on the operational direction of the business in line with AXA IM’s ongoing objective to grow the fund of hedge funds platform.
Jaitly has over twenty years of operational and corporate due diligence expertise in the financial services sector. He joins from Banco Santander where he was managing director and chief risk officer of the Alternative Investments Group.
Soosaipillai reports to Jaitly and will strengthen AXA IM’s Operational and Due Diligence Team. Soosaipillai also joins from Banco Santander UK Group where she was head of the Operational Risk Team and a member of the management committee of Optimal Investment Services SA a wholly owned subsidiary of Santander.

Shiblee Alam has been appointed to the Product Specialist Unit within AXA IM’s Fund of Hedge Funds Business. Alam reports to Aarnout Snouck Hurgronje, head of Hedge Fund Distribution and joins from Lehman Brothers where he was a structurer on their Hedge Funds Derivatives Desk since 2004.
