Atlas Fund Services Opens First U.S. Office

Curaçao-based fund administrator Atlas Fund Services has opened its first U.S. office, which is located in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Atlas currently services over 100 funds, of which 30 are located in the U.S. The effort in the U.S. will be aided by two recent hires—April Spencer and Mark Catalano. Spencer came to Atlas over the summer after serving as the CFO of a mortgage REIT, and for Atlas she will lead fund accounting and operations in the new office. Catalano started at Atlas last month after serving as director of hedge fund services at Deutsche Bank following the bank’s acquisition of hedge fund administrator HedgeWorks, a company Catalano co-founded. At Atlas, Catalano will head business development including building up the U.S. presence.

“The move to the States is strategic for us,” says Danique Sprock, managing director of Atlas. “Our objective is to service our U.S. clients locally and build our brand in the U.S. as the newest and most distinguished fund administrator in our industry.”

In addition its offices in Curaçao and now Charlotte, Atlas also has an office on Cyprus and is working toward opening an office in Malta and in the western U.S.
