Asset Manager Gartmore Makes Top Appointment

Gartmore Group, the asset management sector of Nationwide, appointed Eileen Kennedy as executive vice president and global chief financial officer. She will be based at the company's U.S. headquarters in the metropolitan Philadelphia area, reporting to global CFO Paul Hondros.

Gartmore Group, the asset management sector of Nationwide, appointed Eileen Kennedy as executive vice president and global chief financial officer.

She will be based at the company’s U.S. headquarters in the metropolitan Philadelphia area, reporting to global CFO Paul Hondros. Kennedy will direct the company’s financial activities, with both the US and UK finance-related arms reporting to her.

Since February 2004, Ms. Kennedy has served as senior vice president and CFO of financial services division of Nationwide. She joined Gartmore in April 2003 as executive vice president and CFO. In her initial assignment at Gartmore, she oversaw the company’s financial management activities, including accounting, tax, and management of the annual business planning and budget approval processes.

Prior to joining Gartmore, Kennedy was senior vice president and treasurer at Chicago-based Bank One Corp., now part of JPMorgan Chase & Co., where she managed the bank’s corporate finance activities. She held corporate finance, planning and accounting positions at First Chicago NBD Corp. and its predecessor, First Chicago Corp. She began her career with the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago.

Kennedy holds bachelor of arts degree in finance from the University of Illinois.
