Asia’s emerging markets are expected to have the strongest returns in 2007; simultaneously hedge funds who invest in China will see sharp growth, according to a survey released by Deutsche Bank. The bank polled 700 investment firms, and more than half indicated they would raise their exposure in Asian regions.
Investors said they expect hedge fund to returns 10 percent for 2007, and about $110 billion will go into Asian funds, which is a 10 percent rise from 2006.
The survey stated Asia will see the strongest returns followed by Japan, Europe and the US. Within the hedge fund strategies long/short equity is expected to produce the highest return, followed by global macro, event-driven and distressed.
