Aquin Financial, a Swiss IT consultancy and software provider, is offering its VPS commission tracking and management solution in the United Kingdom.
“The investment fund market needs very flexible methods of dealing with commission management, which are not available in the larger software packages,” explains Ulrich Jacobi, Managing Director of Aquin Financial in Switzerland. “Aquin can provide single purpose engines for each business case, offering commission management and sales control.”
Aquin says VPS manages commission payments to “sales partners, investment advisors and/or custodial banks. It models the most complex partner and product relations, enabling fund managers to define their formulae for calculating commissions.”
Fabrice Vallat, Executive Vice President of Product Consulting at Clariden Bank, a Credit Suisse Group company, agrees that “in terms of managing the business, Aquin’s VPS solution is a great step forward.”
Clariden Bank implemented VPS to manage the commission payments of its numerous fund distributors. “Compensation is a key part of our relationship with our fund distributors,” says Vallat, “and Aquin’s VPS helps us to have an overview of the sales process which significantly improves our management of all the numerous partners we deal with.”
VPS automates the process of calculating commission payments, managing the costs and profits of the sales process, calculating client profitability and offering an overview of a fund manager’s distribution capabilities. Fund managers can generate detailed management information reports, and cut the time required to produce commission calculations. “The more complex agreements and distributors you have, the quicker VPS will pay off,” says Vallat.
Aquin has also recently gone live at DIT (Deutscher Investment Trust), a member of Dresdner Bank Group in Frankfurt.
