Appleby Spurling Hunter announced Wednesday its merger with Bailhache Labesse, which the companies expect to become official on Sept. 1.
The merger will create an offshore provider of legal, fiduciary and administrative services. The combined group will be known as Appleby Hunter Bailhache, and will have a staff worldwide of approximately 600 employees.
The offshore legal market has changed significantly in recent years allowing larger firms the capital to consolidate.
“We will be able to offer clients more choice and enhanced resources, while offering dispassionate guidance on where to place their business” says Peter Bubenzer, Appleby Spurling Hunter’s managing partner. “While organic growth can build expertise over time, we believe that this transaction brings immediate depth and breadth of resources and benefits to clients.”
