Apex Fund Services has hired Dennis Westley as managing director, North America, with immediate effect.

In this role, Westley will be responsible for growing Apex’s North American operations, and Apex says he will also be responsible for “integrating potential acquisitions,” perhaps an indicator oof what’s to come.

Westley will also manage Apex’s offices in New York, New Jersey, Florida and Toronto, and he will report directly to Apex’s global CEO, Bill Salus.

Prior to joining Apex, Westley’s served as an adjunct professor at Widener University near Philadelphia this past fall, teaching a graduate level course on mutual fund investing, according to his LinkedIn profile. Before teaching, he spent over 30 years in the investment and financial services industry, including four years as a managing director in BNY Mellon’s Alternative Investment Services group where he was Head of North American Client Services. Prior to that, he was head of Alternative Investment Services at PNC Global Investment Servicing, where he developed and managed the alternative investments fund administration practice for nearly a decade.

“Dennis’ track record in growing businesses and building teams that exceed client expectations is second to none. He is one of the stand out individuals in the U.S. alternatives and mutual fund industry and his influence will have an immediate impact on Apex’s fast growing U.S. business,” says Salus.
